My process
This year our yearbook had a chronological theme by weeks, and the coverage pages all had a very similar template design.
When I was first assigned a week I would place all the information on the spread in the places I think the stories will end up. Then when all photos, graphics, and writing is on the spread, I would move on to proofing the spread.
In yearbook, we proof our spreads to make sure there are no spelling mistakes or name mistakes in the final print of the book. Proofing is a way for other student staff members to give input on spreads they didn’t make so we can refine our spreads design so they are all the best they can be.
